From Wanaka Snow to Sydney Sun :)

I still love Wanaka. I've been here for almost 4 months now, and it's just perfect. I've been up boarding a fair bit (though not nearly enough as I work full time!), but I'm still pants. God I hope I get better soon! I keep thinking about getting skis, but I MUST NOT GIVE UP on boarding... not yet anyway!!

In other news, I'm (hopefully) extending my Working Holiday Visa by another year, and am even tossing around the idea of residency? Who knows... But I've got enough points to come in as a skilled migrant - as long as I apply before I'm 30, that is. Absolutely typical that I fall in love with the first place I visit on my world tour... :S

I'm actually off to Sydney in the morning to see my old school friend, Ruth. She's getting married in Sardinia next month, and I can't go to that, so I'm heading over to celebrate her forthcoming nuptuals with her in person! It will be fab to see her... although getting there will be tricky... We've had significant snow fall here in NZ... so much so that I've had to buy an extra ticket to get me from Queenstown to Christchurch (and back again) as the roads to Christchurch would consist of about 6-7 hours of really tricky driving - but now I'm not even sure that I'll be able to get to Queenstown!! Hopefully the roads won't be tooooo snowy / icy, and Jerry will be fine with his 4WD.

Once I get to Christchurch I'll have to stay overnight in the airport, as a taxi / hostel / taxi combo's just too expensive when I've already spent so much already!! It's going to be tough as I'm really not feeling very well at the moment - huge swollen glands and sore throat, rediculously annoying cough and just generally feeling like poo. Awww well - hopefully a break will do me good.

Anyway... I just thought I'd give an update on where I am... I can't answer any phone calls for the next week as it will cost a fortune, but might be able to access email? Not sure yet though. I don't even know what temperature to expect in Sydney! But I know it'll be great fun...

And hopefully the snow will still be here in Wanaka when I return next week!!
