The countdown is on!!

My pleading letter to the NZ Embassy obviously worked, because a few weeks ago, I received the most amazing  email... an email granting me my NZ visa!! AMAZING!!!

So since then, I've been getting a bit giddy, and have booked my ticket to Auckland and (after a LOT of research and trying on) I bought my backpack!! And I somehow managed to convince the store manager that he wanted to give me 20% off my backpack and day bag too... result! :)

TRAVEL DATES

I'm leaving the UK on 24th September 2010 to visit my brother, Nick, in Munich. My other brother's coming too, which I'm very happy about! We'll have a great family send-off! And when you factor in the fact that we'll be going to Oktoberfest, it's even better!! :)

Then I'll head back to Heathrow airport on 1st October, and stay there until my flight to Tokyo a few hours later. I'll be in Japan for 10 days, before arriving in Auckland on 12th October 2010!! Then... well... who knows?!

So it's getting closer, but still feels as though my leaving date is SO FAR AWAY!!!

8 weeks left at work... 11 weeks left until I leave this country.
